Attention Model

Beyond visibility.
Measuring actual attention.

Most tools tell you if your brand was mentioned. BAX measures how much attention that mention actually received — based on where it appeared, who was reading, and how deeply they engaged.

Attention Score
A weighted composite of position, reach, and engagement signals.

First-position mentions receive 2.0x weight. Middle 1.0x. Last 0.5x. The Attention Score combines these weights with Attention Reach and Response Consumption Signals to produce a single number that represents real cognitive prominence.

Attention Reach
The percentage of users who actually reach your brand in the response.

Not every user reads the full answer. Attention Reach tracks what fraction of readers reach the section where your brand appears — accounting for response length, position, and reader type distribution.

Average Position
Where your brand consistently appears across all responses.

Tracked per platform and per query type. A brand that always appears last has high Visibility but low Attention Score. Average Position reveals the gap between being present and being noticed.

Position Distribution
The breakdown of first, middle, and last mentions across all audited responses.

Visualized as First Position Share (2.0x weight), Middle Position Share (1.0x), and Last Position Share (0.5x). Not Visible Share rounds out the picture.

Response Consumption Signals

Four signals estimated at the moment of brand exposure, based on response structure, position, and session context.

Response Completion Rate
The estimated percentage of users who read the full response.

Longer responses have lower completion rates. Shorter, structured responses score higher. BAX factors completion rate into the Attention Score for every mention.

Reading Quality
A composite of depth and focus signals during the reading session.

Estimated from session context signals including Active Time Ratio and Distraction Rate. Higher Reading Quality means your mention appeared during a focused, high-engagement moment.

Brand Section Dwell Time
Estimated time spent on the section where your brand appears.

Measured in seconds. A first-position mention in a short, recommendation-focused response scores significantly higher than a last-position mention buried in a long list.

Post-Brand Click Rate
Estimated rate of user action following brand exposure.

The downstream signal. Active Recommendations in first position drive the highest Post-Brand Click Rate. BAX correlates click rate with recommendation type and position weight.
